Darlington Pipe Relining

Having trees and plants around the house can be helpful, but there are also times when problems arise because of them. For example, the roots of these trees can intrude sewage pipes and cause sewage problems. When this happens, the pipes are blocked, causing many problems. Signs of blocked pipes include a foul smell being emitted when using the toilet, backflow of water and bubbling sounds coming from sinks etc.

Three decades ago, the best way to address sewage pipe problems was through traditional methods. The problem with these methods was the inconvenience of excavation which disrupts properties, with the plumbing job taking days to finish. The good news however, is that newer technologies like pipe relining have been introduced.

Pipe relining is a relatively new method of repairing pipes performed by fitting a liner to the existing and broken pipes. Through this process, homeowners can avoid the hassles of excavating the old pipes. Due to the convenience it brings, many Australian homeowners are starting to favour pipe relining over other sewage repair options.

A big bonus is that there is minimal need for pipe excavation. Since there is not much work involved, the total cost of the project will be much cheaper compared to traditional methods. Pipe relining is suitable for pipes with diameters as narrow as 40mm and up to 600mm in diameter.

The Steps Involved In Pipe Relining

The cure-in-place-pipe (CIPP) inversion method of pipe repair entails different steps. Here are the steps we take to ensure that we resolve your sewage issues properly:

Partial Sewage Pipe Cleaning: The blocked earthenware pipe is partly cleaned with a jet of water to get it ready for video inspection.

Video Investigation: Next, a sewer camera is inserted into the pipe so that it can be inspected. What the plumbers mostly want to know is where the damage is exactly, and how severe it is. Clients are also able to view the footage once it’s taken. You may find this helps in making a more informed decision about whether pipe relining is right for you.

Thorough Sewage Pipe Cleaning: A thermosetting resin is prepared based on the acquired measurements. Then, the resin is impregnated into the liner by rolling it out for several times.

Pipe Lining Installation: Once thoroughly cleaned, your plumber will insert the resin-soaked liner into the host pipe, then using an air compressor, will inflate the liner to fit to the diameter of the host pipe neatly.

Curing Process: Ambient air is only needed to cure the liner in pipes with smaller diametres. For pipes with larger diametres, steam or hot water will be used to accelerate the curing process.

Final Video Inspection: The video camera will then be used again to see if the lining has been correctly set up.

The Great Benefits of Pipe Relining

Pipe Relining in Darlington

Pipe relining is an innovative and exciting alternative to traditional pipe repair methods, offering those who utilise it many advantages. Here are some of the benefits you can expect to experience if you opt for pipe relining:

Highly cost-effective – Pipe relining cuts on cost because it does not involve the long and gruelling process of digging, excavating and replacing the pipes. It is also worth noting that there is less damage to the landscape and therefore another saving.

Fast and efficient – This ‘no dig’ method means minimal disruption to your property and life. Generally, pipe relining is done in less than a day. Less complex jobs may be completed in just a few hours. This is a huge advantage over traditional methods that can take several days to carry out.

A better performing sewer system – Another big bonus is that relined pipes perform better than ever. The flow of wastewater through relined pipes is super steady and smooth.

The material is also known for being sturdy. It is expected that it can last for more than fifty years. That is our guarantee. It also helps protect the pipes from further damage due to root intrusion.

Long-lasting – We are so confident that your relined pipes will perform effectively for you for many years to come that we offer a 50 year guarantee.
